General Information |
There is no country in the world as peaceful as Switzerland! It has a wealth of natural beauty with its majestic mountains, wonderful woodlands, beautiful lakes, vast vineyards and breathtaking landscapes together with a most agreeable climate. SHMS is located in the French speaking part of Switzerland in the idyllic town of Caux/ Montreux above Lake Geneva. Students are accommodated in the former 5* Caux - Palace Hotel which offers panoramic views over the Riviera below the French Alps.
The internationally renowned resort of Montreux is only a 20 minute train ride away from the school. Other cities such as Vevey, Lausanne, Geneva, Bern or even Zurich, Lucerne and Basle can be easily reached with public transportation.

Higher Diploma in Hotel Management and Tourism This 2 1/2 year programme (terms 1-5) covers all subjects vital to students who are seeking to develop a successful management career in the hotel and catering industry. The main components are Food and Beverage Management, Rooms Division Management and Hotel and Tourism Management. It includes two 4-6 months internships. Students who have successfully completed this course will receive a Swiss Higher diploma in Hotel Management and Tourism as well as an AH&MA diploma (American Hotel & Motel Association Educational Institute diploma) |

Accomodation |
During the academic term, students are accommodated in a magnificent building, built originally as a luxury 5 * hotel.
The standard accommodation included in the fees consists of twin share rooms. Double deluxe and single deluxe rooms, which have their own private bathroom and a view over Lake Geneva, are also available at an extra charge.
Fullboard is provided seven days a week. 3 meals on weekdays (breakfast, lunch and dinner), and two meals at the week-ends (brunch and dinner). Meals are served either in the Self Service Buffet Restaurant or the French Restaurant.
Students may use the student kitchen to prepare a meal if they wish, particularly at weekends.
