Accreditations |
Hotel schools in Switzerland are independent privately owned institutions. HIM is registered as a limited company with the Office of Commerce in the canton of Vaud, Switzerland.

MANAGING FRONT OFFICE OPERATIONS |
This course examines the central role played by the Front Office in the success of a hotel. It traces the guest cycle, from reservations to departure, evaluating front office functions, examining the relationship between departments, the use of technology, the importance of guest security, and the key element of service in the guest’s experience. It combines a theoretical approach with practical computer applications.

HOUSEKEEPING MANAGEMENT |
This course presents the management principles and applied techniques required in today’s lodging and institutional housekeeping departments. Emphasis is placed on techniques of quality assurance, cost control and staff productivity.

HOTEL SALES AND MARKETING |
This course is designed to give students an in-depth understanding of how to maintain a profitable level of business by utilizing the basic functions of sales, marketing, advertising, and promotions.

Food & Beverage Management. BAR AND BEVERAGE MANAGEMENT |
This course introduces alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Emphasis is placed on product, origin, identification and service standards. Product knowledge is emphasized along with personal ethics and the correct combination of Food and Beverages.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE MANAGEMENT |
This course covers the principles of food and beverage management. Emphasis is placed on the cost control cycle, menu planning, food and beverage sales and marketing promotion and includes a practical menu management exercise.

HOSPITALITY SUPERVISION |
This course combines theoretical as well as practical aspects, which prepare the student for the transition from employee to supervisor. Communication, dealing with difficult employees, motivation techniques as well as employee scheduling, briefing sessions and team building will be covered.

Finance for the Hospitality Industry.
FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING - HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY.

This course introduces basic accounting techniques and enables the students to apply these to record business transactions, balance accounts and produce a set of final accounts for a hospitality business, following generally accepted accounting principles.
